Why would two nurses, with 50 years of experience in the medical field, turn to magnetic therapy when faced with health challenges?
Donna Deppert, RN, has had experience in many aspects of nursing – including coronary care, community health and hospice work. For many years Donna had health challenges and often spent up to $250 per month on medications. Donna states, “Due to my inability to tolerate mainstream medications I turned to alternative ways to help myself. I began to use magnetic therapy and my breathing improved, my joints became more flexible, I no longer have the pain in my back from a bone spur.” She continues: “Most importantly, my Mom who suffered from sleep apnea now sleeps through the night and has a much better disposition. My mother-in-law suffered from neuropathy in her legs so severe she couldn’t sleep. The first night on the magnetic sleep system she called to thank me. After months of no sleep, she was able to sleep through the night. This gave her quality of life back.”
For many people pain control means reaching for pills or other medication – or, as a last resort – surgery. And many others have heard the fateful words about their pain – “Just live with it.” Magnetic therapy is another avenue to explore on a path to comfort, healing and well-being.
Dr. Brian Dailey, a local physician, states, “Vibrational and energetic medicine is one of the oldest and most exciting areas of medicine.” Magnetic therapy, like other energy modalities, is grounded in the belief that health is a result of proper energy flow. Magnetic energy restores health by supporting and enhancing the natural energetic processes in the body, boosting the body’s natural healing. It works on the same principle as acupuncture, but without the needles. We are electro-magnetic beings, and scientists have established that without adequate energy at the cellular level, cells become unable to perform various functions. Studies show that external energy applied to a body (e.g. magnets) can stimulate the body’s natural healing, instead of the popular method of treating symptoms pharmaceuticals.
Jane*, another nurse (45 year-old mother of two), met Donna Deppert and learned about magnetic therapy. Jane was open to trying it because she had suffered with back pain for 20 years and also had some numbness in her legs. Jane states, “No treatment was available for a numb leg and two doctors were unable to determine the cause or offer help.” Jane describes how her lifestyle was inhibited since she was unable to enjoy exercise or play sports. She started her treatment by wearing a pair of magnetic insoles – and was surprised how “energized” she felt. She then tried the magnetic mattress pad and was surprised at the improvement. “I had a great day following my first night on the magnetic mattress. My leg that had been numb for 1-2 years was now normal! My symptoms, which were eventually diagnosed as MS, were completely gone. I have continued to have normal sensations in both feet and in my leg that had previously been numb.”
Jane is a clear example of how using magnetic therapy can effect a healing change. She continues with her traditional medical treatment for MS, but complements it by supporting her system with magnetic energy. She sleeps on her magnetic mattress pad and puts magnetic insoles in all her shoes. Jane’s daughter was so impressed with the magnetic mattress pad that she bought one to take to college. Donna summarizes: “I was glad I found a treatment instead of pharmaceuticals because it expanded my horizons and empowered me to take control of my own health. What could be more important?”
